Collection: Sue Jelley
Sue Jelley PPSWA SPF works from her studio in Surrey where she enjoys using acrylics, oils and pastels. Sue is a Director of the Society of Women Artists (SWA) and was President from 2012 to 2017. She is also a member of the Societe des Pastellistes de France (SPF) and the Worshipful Company of Painter Stainers.
Sue studied under James Hockey of the West Surrey College of Art and went on to study and work in London and Paris with the Portraitist Ken Paine. Much of her work is inspired by the body language of her models, especially musicians and dancers and she likes to create an atmosphere of passion and movement in all her works.
Whilst in Paris Sue worked with The French Pastel Society and it was her visits to 'Le Petit Journal' jazz club in Paris and the famous jazz venues of New Orleans that spawned a lifelong love of Jazz and its many interesting characters.
Her original paintings can be found in many private and public collections in the UK and around the World.
Signed, limited edition, framed prints are available at The Gallery at Ice.
