ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Maria Rivans
Taking a unique approach to collaging, Maria Rivans is known for her layered imagery of vintage Hollywood. From starlets to Sci-Fi, B-movies to TV trash, Rivans’ passion for bygone cinema is palpable, infusing every piece with a life of its own.
Merging Pop Art with Surrealism, her work overflows with elements – a rich fusion of the organic and artificial, the urban and the natural, the human and the animal. Finely tuned to colour and compositional harmony, Rivans uses her distinctive approach to vintage adding a touch of humour, optimism, and inspiration.
In 2017 and 2018, her work featured in The Times newspaper and, in 2018, her Film Still ‘Understanding Nothing’ was selected for the Royal Academy’s 250th Summer Exhibition.

Welcome to Windsor
Dave Thompson
Noted as the UK's favourite travel artist - here at the Gallery at Ice, we love the pieces he created that hero our home.
Like his other retro travel posters, his views on Windsor give a stylised and romantic spin on this gorgeous town.
Dave Thompson’s work revisits a classic era of poster design, recreated in the vibrant tones of 1950s travel art. Based in Southsea, Portsmouth he certainly knows how to capture a mood with his images.
Hannah Bruce
Hannah Bruce is a very talented illustrator with a gift for bringing out the best in her subject.
Her Windsor works pick out both the popular thoroughfares and the secret passageways of this delightful town and we love the fairy-tale feel her art evokes.
Hannah is a Surrey-based professional artist who loves working En Plein Air
Gill Heppell
A great friend of the gallery, Gill Heppell has an exquisite eye for beauty. Her stunning views of Windsor capture the natural and architectural uniqueness of our town.
After an illustrious career in marketing and innovation, Gill decided to return to her first love, photography. Her talent was such that she became one of the official photographers for Windsor in 2010.
She has covered a number of state visits and royal occasions in Windsor, including both the recent Royal weddings.
